This is a difficult book to accurately review because the topic in uestion is so taboo Although it s a relatively short read it s an intriguing one and I felt it could have easily been examined further in a couple of hundred pages Noah is the stereotypical all American teenager athletic popular and loved by many Until he commits an unspeakable act against two young girls whom he swim coaches The story follows his family predominantly his mother Adrienne as Noah nears the end of his court ordered rehabilitation in a unit for young sex offenders The subject poses difficult uestions for the reader can child abusers be rehabilitated Should they The story also examines the complex relationship between mother and son as she struggles to understand his actions I m sure the author has drawn on her own professional experiences for Adrienne s feelings The ending of the book felt a little rushed as previously mentioned I would have liked the book to be longer and for the characters to be explained It felt like there was ample opportunity for the author to stretch her literary creativity I would read this author again I admire writers who seek out difficult topics and bring them to the forefront of the fictional world Judge Dredd Chronicles #19 read the last page uestioning beliefs you once thought were true. review Saving Noah 103 G was wrong until the day he confesses to molesting little girls during swim team practice He’s sentenced to eighteen months in a juvenile sexual rehabilitation center His mother Adrianne refuses to turn her back on him despite his horrific crimes but her husband won’t allow Noah back into their home In a series of shockin. This book is SO sad Actually sad isn t even the word It s absolutely heartbreaking terrifying on so many levels It s excellent for what it is extremely well written but it is NOT a thriller It s so a character study or sort of fictional memoir I couldn t decide what to rate it because it is so expertly done I think it may be perfect if God forbid you need insight into any of these issues But as far as reading it for entertainment No way I was gutted Even once I realized what it was or wasn t i still couldn t put it down But I wouldn t have picked it up in the first place if i knew what it was
